One patient was seriously injured in this head on crash.
LEBANON, ME - The Lebanon Rescue Department, York County Sheriff’s Department and Lebanon Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with serious injuries on Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
The accident was reported at 11:28 a.m., and was located on the Little River Road, near the intersection of the Chick Road.
“It appears a 2007 Harley Davidson had just turned onto Little River Road and was heading north, towards Carl Broggi Highway, when a 2006 Hyundai Accent headed south on Little River Road went to go around a commercial vehicle that had slowed down. The motorcycle and the Hyundai collided head-on and the driver of the motorcycle was thrown onto a neighbor’s driveway. He was transported by Lebanon Ambulance to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.” Assistant Chief Jason Cole added.
The motorcycle operator was a fifty-year-old male from Lebanon. He was alone on the motorcycle and was not wearing a helmet. His injuries were considered serious. He was conscious and alert at the scene.
The operator of the Hyundai was a thirty-three-year-old female from Lebanon. She was wearing her seatbelt and was evaluated at the scene but not transported to the hospital.
Both vehicles suffered extensive damage. The car was towed from the scene and the motorcycle was removed by a family member in a truck.
Little River Road was closed to one lane for about forty-five minutes while emergency crews worked at the scene.
The accident was investigated by Deputy Gil Hudson of the York County Sheriff’s Department.
